Some problems in Shockwave can be solved by forcing Shockwave to download the latest version of a downloadable Xtra like PrintOMatic, PrintOMatic Lite or Table Xtra.To force a download, you will need to delete the previously downloaded Xtra files. Typical file locations are as follows.
Windows File Locations
Windows System Folder\System32\Macromed\Shockwave Folder\Xtras\Download\ElectronicInk
The Windows System Folder is the location of your operating system on the boot hard disk. In Windows 95, 98, and Me, this is typically C:\WINDOWS. In Windows NT, 2000, and XP, this is typically C:\WINNT.
The Shockwave Folder will start with the word "Shockwave", and may be followed by the version number, e.g. "Shockwave 10" for the latest release.
Mac OS X File Locations
System Hard Disk:Library:Application Support:Macromedia:Shockwave Folder:Xtras:Download:ElectronicInk
The System Hard Disk is the drive that your Mac boots off of. The Shockwave Folder will be named according to the description above.
Mac Classic File Locations
System Hard Disk:System Folder:Extenesions:Macromedia:Shockwave Folder:Xtras:Download:ElectronicInk
The System Hard Disk and Shockwave Folder are as described above.
Which Files to Delete
If you really want to reset Shockwave’s download "cache", you should delete the entire contents of the "Download" folder. If you just want to force downloads of Electronic Ink’s Xtras, delete the specified "ElectronicInk" folder. If you only want to delete certain Xtras, then look inside the "ElectronicInk" folder for Xtra-specific subfolders that you can delete.
The next time Shockwave needs a downloadable Xtra that you deleted, it will prompt you to download a fresh version, so you can be sure that you are using the latest version of a downloadable Xtra.
